The President of the United States of America Donald J Trump has clarified that the new executive order on immigration is not a Muslim ban as being reported but a measure aimed at keeping America and Americans safe from terror. President Trump was glad that the policy was yielding the much expected results.
The ban which was likened to his campaign promise of extreme vetting was placed on seven countries where acts of terrorism were on the increase. The countries in the list included Syria, Libya, Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Somalia and Yemen. The ban is to last for 120 days during which a policy framework will be developed for immigration from terror prone countries. Also the Syrian refugee program has been suspended as a result of the new executive order.
Similarly, President Trump has given his national security team 30 days to develop a strategy on defeating the Islamic State (ISIS). This was contained in an executive order which the President signed at the white house.
