Biafra/Nigeria two State Solution the only Panacea for Peace and Igbo Nationhood – IPOB
– Kennedy Kenechukwu Ochi says the Nigerian government is trying to intimidate the Biafra people
– The IPOB leader says that the intimidation of Igbos has been from past governments to the present day
– Ochi says that the Igbos can only be free when the Biafra dream is actualized
– He says the pro-Biafrans will continue to push for their rights, though there are threats to their lives
Kennedy Kenechukwu Ochi, one of the leaders of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), has said no amount of intimidation would dim the struggle for a sovereign state of the Igbo.
He stated in Enugu yesterday that agitation for the realisation of Biafra would continue as long as the leadership of the country perpetuates ‘slavery’, arrests and clamping of innocent Igbo agitators into prison.
Biafra is the only place Igbos can be free, no intimidation will stop the struggle – IPOB
According to The Guardian, Ochi, who led the march to mark the inauguration of President Donald Trump of the United States (U.S.) on January 20, 2017 where 11 agitators were reportedly killed during a clash with security officials in Port Harcourt, stated that since the ugly incident, he had been in hiding over alleged threats to his life.
“This struggle is my life. I became an IPOB member because the situation of Ndigbo has not changed in Nigeria. Every government has foisted policies that have made Ndigbo look ordinary in a country where they are stakeholders. We want to resurrect Biafra because that is the only place we can have our freedom. But they are killing us, they are arresting us and putting some of us in prison,” he said.
In a similar vein, just released from prison, the leader of the Biafra Zionist Federation (BZF), Barrister Benjamin Onwuka, has declared that the south-east would become independent on March 15, 2017.
