The outgoing Governor of IMO State Rochas Okorocha has nominated his son-in-law Uche Nwosu to succeed him as the next governor of IMO State amidst opposition from some members of his party APC, the opposition parties and citizens of the state who see it as an act of nepotism.
Uche Nwosu hails from Eziama in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state. The Same senatorial zone as the governor. He is currently the Chief of State to the IMO State Governor who happens to be his father-in-law.
Opposition in the state has accused the governor of wide spread corruption and negligence to the rule of law.
The elections are to be held in the first quarter of 2019.
