The Chairman of Nigeria Maritime Administration and Security Agency (NIMASA) and a Governorship contender in the 2015 elections in River State under the All Progressive Congress Party has vowed to resist the newly signed River State Neighbourhood Watch bill. The Bill was signed by the Governor Nyesom Wike in order to further improve intelligence gathering in the state with the view of preventing crimes before they occur.

Although the Governor had allayed the fears of the people of the state especially those in the opposition party APC who claimed that the security outfit will be used for political reasons.

For this reason Dakuku Peterside has vowed to mobilize the people of River State in protest against the law with greater interest in the aspect of the Law that permits the neighbourhood watch to carry arms.
