A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria has cleared embattled Supreme Court Judge Justice Ngwuta of corruption charges filed against him by President Buhari through the Department of State Service (DSS).
In a landmark ruling the presiding judge Justice John Tsoho struck out the case and charges for lack of merit.
The judge further stated that due process was not followed and that before such allegations can be heard by the court, the judge in question must first face the disciplinary committee of the National Judicial Council (NJC). It is after the NJC has made their recommendations and if the Judge is found wanting that the court can entertain the case and pronounce penalties.
Justice Sylvester Ngwuta is a supreme court judge as well as the former Chief Judge of Enugu State. He hails from Ebonyi State Nigeria.
