The Nigerian Minister of Agriculture Audu Ogbeh has told Nigerians to expect more Killings and arson from Armed Fulani Herdsmen as the Government is not yet ready and lacks the resources to fund cattle ranching.
The Minister further said there will be an upsurge in the Farmers-Herdsmen clashes across the country.
At a media briefing in Abuja, the minister said it is expensive to run ranches and subsidise cattle ranching as it is done in Europe and other advanced economies.
He further reiterated that open grazing was the cheapest means of cattle rearing and animal husbandry which the Normadic Fulanis have refused to do away with.
There has been series of violent clashes between Fulani Herdsmen and farmers as a result of herdsmen destruction of farms leading to the death of thousands of people.
