Only a senate veto of Electoral Act will entrench Electronic Voting – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has stated that only a veto and passage of Amended Electoral Act into law by the senate can entrench Electronic Voting.

This was made known by the Commission’s director of Information and Communication Technology Mr Nwafo while clarifying INEC’s statement that there will be no electronic voting in the 2019 general elections rather voting will be manual and results transfer will be via technology.

President Buhari has refused to append his signature to the amended Electoral Act because of the reordering of the sequence of elections which the president is not comfortable with.
