A Presidential aspirant in the 2019 General Elections and Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria has blasted Nigerian President Mohammed Buhari over President Buhari’s derogatory comments on Nigerian Youths.
President Buhari in far away London in the 2018 Commonwealth Submit abused Nigerian Youths as lazy and unproductive.
This statement by the President has received a lot of backlash from Nigerians both at home and in disapora with the latest coming from Presidential hopeful Kingsley Moghalu. Moghalu wrote on his Facebook Page with:
Dear Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian youths are not waiting for handouts. They are making the most of what has been left for them, which is nothing.
Under your administration, unemployment has climbed from 8.2% in Q2 2015, to 18.8% now. Many want to work, but they have no opportunities.
Many of our young people, from Wizkid to Davido to Don Jazzy have been fantastic cultural ambassadors of Nigeria. Lazy youth could not have pulled this off.
Yet more, like Kola Oyeneyin and Otto Orondaam are doing their bit to give their fellow youths opportunities for a better life.
We must refrain from asking our youth why their feet are dirty, when we don’t even give them shoes.
